FILM IN THE CITY PRESENTS "TRIBECA TELLING OUR STORIES" MANHATTAN MOVIE MAGAZINE, NATAS, THE FALL COLLECTION & FILMNYC JOIN TO CELEBRATE NEW YORK CITY FILMMAKERS PARTICIPATING IN THE 2007 TRIBECA FILM FESTIVAL

New York, New York - April 25, 2007 - Film in the City will be celebrating the 2007 Tribeca Film Festival with a special event entitled "Tribeca Telling Our Stories," a salute to the New York City filmmakers participating in the upcoming 2007 Tribeca Film Festival. The special cocktail party saluting New York City filmmakers will be held from 6;30-9:30 PM on Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at the Sugar Bar and Restaurant, 311 Church Street, New York, NY 10013.

The Tribeca Film Festival has become the premiere film event in the city for filmmakers and the community. This year Film in the City (FITC) joins forces with Manhattan Movie Magazine, National Academy of Television, Arts and Sciences (NATAS),The Fall Collection and FILMNYC to celebrate one of the city's most powerful film events of the year.

Some of the confirmed directors attending "Tribeca Telling Our Stories" include Matthew Bonifacio, "Amexicano; Marshall Levy, "Blue Slate"; Jim Mickle, "Mulberry Street" and Alison Thompson, "The Third Wave".

"New York City is the perfect feeding ground for creative young filmmakers looking for a place to tell interesting stories, write fantastic scripts and live out the true artistic experience as an Indie filmmaker" said Elisa Keys, Executive Director of Film in the City.

The Mayor's Office of Film, Theater and Broadcasting recently announced a lineup of 20 New York films competing in this year's Tribeca Film Festival. The festival, taking place April 25 - May 6, 2007 and presented by American Express, will feature a total of 245 films, 157 feature films and 88 shorts selected from 4,550 film submissions, of which 2,250 were feature film submissions.

These selections include 74 World premieres, seven International premieres, 27 North American premieres, 19 U.S. premieres and 21 New York City premieres. This year's festival also includes films from 47 countries including Argentina, Armenia, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Croatia, Cuba, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Italy, Japan, Lebanon, Mali, Mexico, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Pakistan, Panama, Peru, Russia, Serbia, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Tunisia, Turkey, U.K., Ukraine, U.S.A and its territory Puerto Rico.
