If you want to secure work as a model, you should be able to find trustworthy modeling agents to work with you. This can be pretty challenging, since there are a lot of old and new modeling agencies out there that you can choose from.
First of all, in order for you to get picked by top modeling agencies, you need to groom yourself and make yourself look presentable. Of course, top modeling agencies would want to hire someone who has the whole package of what they are looking for in a model - flawless skin, perfectly contoured body, and silky, flowing hair.
You also need to bring your portfolio that you can show to modeling agents so that they can gauge your modeling abilities. Perhaps you happen to have a photographer friend who can help you do photo shoots for your portfolio. If not, you can always look for advertisements involving photographers. Don't forget to bring your make-up, outfits, and accessories to go with your photo shoot.
After completing your portfolio, then that is the time that you should look for top model agencies in your area. You can also check out reputable lists, such as the Ross Reports, which provide a list of modeling agents for film, TV, and other modeling gigs. There are also open-call listings online, so keep track of them.
When you have located your preferred top model agencies, you can then send your portfolio to them, together with a expressing your desire to be accepted in their agency. You should also take your sample portfolio to all open calls that you attend.
Make sure that when you attend to meetings involving the modeling agents of your choice, you are properly groomed and dressed to kill. However, do not wear too much make-up so that your natural beauty shines through. Speak clearly when you are asked a question for your interview.
