You already know that there are any amount of reasons to coach your pets. You know it'll make your pet far easier to cope with. You even know a correctly trained pet is not as likely to get into difficulty, will be less certain to be punished, and will be not as likely to disobey your commands. You even already know that correct pet coaching gives a better standard of living for both you and your pets.
The issue is that you aren't sure if you are coaching your pets correctly.
How come? Well, often as you simply don't know enough about the way to correctly train yourself first. The reality is, before you can even think to coach your pets, you must take the obligatory steps which will assure you have a correct pet coaching foundation to work with. An unlucky fact is that the majority are not well prepared when it comes to coaching their dog. Everyone seems to be out to make it seem easy. In truth is can be straightforward to belittle the quantity of time, effort, and work that goes into training a new puppy.
You'll need to prepare for these sorts of issues long before you are prepared to start puppy training. There are however other things you'll need to learn first before you even start coaching your puppy. It starts with your vocabulary of commands.
If you use "sit" always use sit. Don't change it from "sit" to "sit down" or "I announced Sit". As this will only serve to puzzle the dog. Coaching will be hard enough without this additional level of confusion. Since your consistency plays a big part in training your puppy properly, you must also be consistent with your vocal tones.
Due to this your dog will reply to vocal intonations far better then you suspect. The 3rd part of consistency is your subconscious movements. You need to use body language as an element of your dog coaching methods.
For example, pointing to the floor when commanding "down". Much in the same tactics as your voice tones do, your subconscious movements speaks volumes to animals. Simply watch any 2 dogs together and you'll see precisely how major a technique of communication body language is for your dog. One thing that I like to recommend you do is to check your own consistency.
You will find that you are not almost as consistent as you suspect you are being. There's no consistency there. Coaching yourself to be as consistent as practical will probably be one of the toughest part of your own coaching. Your puppy coaching relies on this consistency so much so, that in truth if you aren't consistent you will almost guarantee that you're going to become annoyed and basically do more harm then good to your puppy.
If your training your puppy, stop for some days till you can become more mindful of your own inconsistencies. You may notice that as you become more consistent, so does your pet.
