It's not so easy to get attention from your dogs while you're training them. Most of the dogs can be easily distracted from other people, other dogs, other animals and loud noises. It is important to not let those distractions disrupt while you are training your dogs. To make more fun and effective, the dog must be taught to ignore distractions. These types of distractions can even be used as rewards when you call your dog to come.
Giving your dog a reward during the day, such as walking in the park, riding in the car, or playing with other dogs, is a good way to keep your dog's attention. For instance, if your dog enjoys walking in the park and playing with other dogs then let him/her do it freely. Then you go to the park and call your dog to come. When he/she comes to you, give him/her a reward whether a treat, a special outing, or just a scratch behind the ears. Then allow him/her to go back and play with his/her friends. Repeat this method several times and give him/her a reward each time that he/she comes to you. However, if your dog does not follow your ordered, you need to take him/her away from the park. Then your dog will learn that something great is going to happen every time he/she obeys your command, he/she will be motivated to please you every time. In the beginning of dog training, your dog may not respond to this kind of training right away. This is because dogs are naturally social animals and difficult to break them away from their groups. So you may require some creativity at first, such as waving his/her favorite toy to get your dog's attention back to you. Once the dog get used to this training, you can gradually reduce and stop using the toy and start to train him/her to respond to your voice commands only.
